Food was so good—a step up in variety from the typical Greek restaurant and so well prepared and presented. Our server Roula was attentive and helped us select a great bottle of wine. Can’t wait to try the patio as it was very loud inside.

Panyoti was so wonderful as a server, the vibe was amazing. As a Greek family we are wearing with Greek twists in food, however after eating here Jimmy has done the impossible and has made his kitchen better than yia yias. Great staff great people. Thank you!

Just finished a 25ish person private luncheon I planned with the help of manager Erik. He was so personable and accommodating from the start it was an easy choice coming to Kouklas, which no one in our party had yet tried. The staff, especially Panos!) was attentive and friendly and the food was PERFECTION. My favorite was the brocollini and the skordalia with the fried zucchini. Delicious avgolemono with orzo instead of rice and lots of fresh dill and lemon! Chicken was nice, people loved the potatoes, and the pastitsio may have been the best one I've ever tried. The rice pudding creme brulee was so good and the loukamades, with wonderful honey, were a huge hit too! We can't wait to come back!! Opa!

Food, service and drinks outstanding. Everything we ordered was delicious. What I liked was they didn’t bring all the food out at once. Yes u have to valet park BUT it’s complimentary!

Phenomenal food and service! We were here tonight with friends who were new to Kouklas. Outstanding food: Saganaki, beef gyro plate, grilled calamari with black eye peas, charred broccolini, chicken souvlaki and the don't miss whipped feta! For dessert (we made room) we opted to share the baklava (delicious) and the rice pudding panna cotta, which was heavenly. Attentive, knowledgeable and friendly service is top-notch across --the -board. Valet service is much appreciated. We chose to eat on the patio, as the noise level on previous visits made conversation very difficult.

Dina M. provided great hospitality through her knowledgeable recommendations and suggestions off the menu. I definitely recommend the spicy feta spread, fried zucchini, and halloumi ravioli. Can’t wait to go back to try more of their amazing food.

Great brick chicken, delicious cocktails, salad was yummy.

Beautiful space that transports you. Hosts are gracious and friendly. Gratuitous Valet parking, is a nice surprise and a classy touch.I was nervous because i didn't bring cash to tip, but they accept Zelle.Service was attentive and genuinely hospitable. In a way that disarms you and makes you feel at home.The food was authentic, without feeling dated-elevated without the pretention. And the prices were significantly more reasonable than expected. The Banos family delivers once again on what's sure to be yet another Chicago area classic destination.

Perfect dining experience celebrating my wife! We ordered the flaming Saganaki and Greek fries as well as the chicken gyros. Everything came out quick, tasted fresh, and each dish was incredibly tasty. Rene was our server and he was a star. Took our questions to the chef about the menu and made sure everything was perfect. He even helped box up our food at our table! We had the Greek yogurt desert and we were huge fans. I would go back just for the desert. We will be back

Absolutely loved this as my birthday dinner this year. The saganaki, oysters (my husband had em, I'm allergic) zucchini, pork souvlaki and lamb chops were really delicious. I did feel like it was a little loud and I was disappointed to see big screen TVs... also felt like the van could have used a little more seasoning. But I certainly enjoyed it with the sauce and genuinely just had a great feeling after the meal, too. Congratulations to you all, I'm a lifelong restaurant worker - this is a triumph. Thank you to our server, Nieve. She made my birthday special and looked us right in the eye. Kind of a rarity these days. Can't wait to come back.

The entire experience was excellent from start to finish. I've never had greek food served in a similar style to tapas but Kouklas has this equation solved. From the saganaki and fry bread starters to the pork belly and greek sausage and finally the lamb and pork skewers everything was exquisite. With the expansive dessert menu to top it off our party of four was completely satisfied but looking forward to our next visit. I have been to three one star Michelin restaurants and one two star and this place give them all a run for their money. My honest recommendation: make time to come here and try anything even close to piqueing you interest, it is all worth it.

The main dining room was a little challenging to have a conversation as the noise levels are high.

Kouklas Greek Eatery is an absolute gem in the area! The atmosphere is vibrant and welcoming, and the food is consistently phenomenal. Everything from the shareable mezze plates to the main plates. Each dish is packed with incredible flavor and clearly made with care. turned us into 'regulars"!!​A huge shout-out to the staff, particularly favorite servers Panos and Nieve and the entire front-of-house team'who provided top-notch, attentive service. If you're looking for elevated Greek comfort food and a wonderful dining experience, do not miss this place!!,

ATMOSPHERE: Gorgeous interior with beautiful honeycomb wall tile. Background music at times made it difficult to speak with our server and each other but we adjusted. The men's restroom door lock was broken(?), giving one a strong hint to wash hands quickly. Tables were small for today's impractical restaurant plate sizes (not the portions, which were just right). But their sizes are the current trend. Will smaller, lighter Corelle dinnerware ever become hip for the industry?SERVICE: Always considerate, knowledgeable and explanatory of the offerings, with a relaxed sense of humor. And good at smartphone photography!FOOD: Modern takes on Greek dishes always impressed and often delighted. Avgolemono (Orzo, Dill) instantly brought memories of my mother's cooking. It didn't incorporate rice or corn starch, making for a lighter and more flavorful soup. Grilled Oysters (Myzithra, Kefalotyri, Garlic Butter, Breadcrumbs) resulted in ravenous eating. My co-diner -- who's _normally_ an adult, mind you -- literally licked each of the shells clean like a five year old. I guess these made the Bliss List. Grilled Octopus (Gigante Bean, Celery, Cherry Tomatoes, Salsa Verde) was excellent even if its salsa overpowered if not eaten lightly. Crispy-skinnned Mediterranean Branzino (Ladolemono, Black Sea Salt) was "just right" in flavor and texture.Crispy Pork Belly (Maple Ginger Glaze, Trahana, Maitake Mushroom, Pickled Carrot, Pea Shoots) reminded us to order lechon at a competing cuisine's restaurant. It was good(!), but Filipino style is more to our liking. Flaming Bone Marrow (Herb Salad, Grilled Bread, Sea Salt, Metaxa) was fun and photogenic but beaten by the version offered by Purple Pig's Chicago and Oakbrook locations. Nevertheless, a wonderfully contemporary Pastitsio (Greek Bolognese, Bechamel Foam) was this diner's favorite, with Bechamel Foam thoughtfully set near one of the plate's edges.While sweet Cherry Soda paired well with the above, for more dessert, Soft Serve Greek Yogurt Gelato with drizzled honey made mouths happy. Loukomades (Greek Honey Doughnuts, Cinnamon) did so even more with their crispy exterior. And Greek Coffee (Bravo brand?) with sugar was perfectly sweet and thankfully not at all bitter.

Absolutely delicious Greek food, and probably my favorite restaurant in Niles! I got the beets and Tirokafteri and both were incredible, I did not realize how well the beets would go with the cheese and pistachios. It's actually an unexpectedly perfect flavor blend. The crispy bread served with the spreads is also so buttery and delicious and is a wonderful pairing with the cheeses. For dessert, I got the Greek Yogurt gelato, and I loved it. I would come back for that alone. I wasn't huge on the Olive Oil Chocolate Cake, but the gelato is a must-get!

I finally had a chance to try it! The place was super busy, with a line literally outside the door. We started at the bar with drinks while waiting, and luckily got a table later to finish our dinner.The food was absolutely delicious! 😍 Everything we tried was fresh and full of flavor. The restaurant is beautiful, the atmosphere is great, and the staff was very friendly and welcoming.A special shout-out to our server, Nieve B., who was wonderful, friendly, and attentive throughout our dinner! ❤️Definitely a great place to check out if you love Greek food. 🇬🇷 I’ll definitely be back!

The chicken was INCREDIBLE!

Food is absolutely delicious — especially the fish, shrimp, and octopus! And at the end, you must try the Greek yogurt ice cream with black salt and olive oil. It’s incredible!

Good food from a creative chef. Friendly, hard-working service staff. Despite the weekend crowd, the staff was very patient and efficient. A little loud, but then again it was Saturday night. We are definitely coming back, next time on a weeknight. My table was very happy with the menu, and greatly enjoyed the bottle of white Greek wine we ordered. Save room for dessert! Try the olive oil chocolate cake.

This restaurant is not your typical Greek restaurant. Creativity and food was top notch. Dina helped us with the menu and the family style dinning is the way to go. Will be back!

Had an amazing experience at Kouklas! The food was fresh, authentic, and absolutely delicious. Every dish we ordered was full of flavor. The hilopites are my absolute favorite.Our waitress, Dina M, was exceptional. She was friendly, attentive, and made sure our table had everything we needed from start to finish. Made us feel like we were in Greece! Outstanding service and amazing food. We’ll definitely be back and hope to have Dina again! Highly recommend!

Absolute gem of a restaurant. Best grilled oysters outside of New Orleans and will compete with the best from there too. Staff is incredible and every dish is bright, flavorful and well thought out.

We recently celebrated my mom’s 80th Birthday there and from the moment I walked in I was blown away with the service. The staff did an incredible job especially our waitress she was amazing with her knowledge and suggestions of the plate portions for our group. The eggplant spread Was truly amazing.WOW! I won’t name anything else since we probably ordered half of the items on the menu but everyone loved the dishes. Great Job Chef!!I will definitely be back.Thank you for hosting us.

As a first time visitor, you are informed that dishes are made for sharing. We picked out 3 different dishes during out meal. Each was delivered with exceptional creativity and quality with sauces and dips complimenting each menu item.On top of that was extraordinary and attentive service. Kudos to the entire wait staff for the outstanding care given to diners.

The best Greek restaurant in the area.My best girlfriend and I kept ordering so many courses we completely forgot about dessert! Chef Bannos is amazing and even came out to introduce himself. We loved it so much that we went back the next night to try other dishes we weren't able to the first time! Saganaki, fabulous. Pork belly, to die for. Pasta, heavenly. I'll keep you posted on future dinners!

We all agreed this was the best meal we have had in a long time. The Chickpea Giardiniera dip was outstanding. We also had the whipped feta, house salad, roasted chicken, grilled octopus, beet salad and a bunch of other dishes. All were amazing! We want to go back, soon.

Lots of people around so it’s a very lively atmosphere. The service is a 10/10 especially the one waitress Dina M. Very sweet lady and extremely helpful. Food gets out super fast and tastes amazing. Highly recommend the strawberry gelato;it’s rich and creamy but very refreshing.

My husband took me for my birthday on a friday night, and it was packed. Our server, Rene, was incredible, he made fantastic recommendations and even let us know a dip was spicy on the calamari. Yes, I ate it, it was very spicy, and very delicious. The Food Runner, Tony had a smile on his face all night dropping dishes at each table. He also checked on us throughout the night. One of the bussers, I do not know his name, but he wore a gold rosary, also stopped to chat when he would remove the plates. The collaboration of the entire restaurant made the whole experience phenomenal. We had a kalamata dip, calamari, Greek potatoes, and tuna. We probably could have eaten more if it wasn't for that delicious house baked bread they served, we each ate a whole loaf. 10/10

My experience at Kouklas Restaurant in Niles was absolutely incredible! From the moment the food started coming out, I knew we were in for something special.We started with the whipped feta and chickpea appetizer, and it was unbelievably delicious—rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. Served with the most delicious bread ever.The winter salad was fresh, crisp, and beautifully prepared, and the Greek potatoes were some of the best I've ever had—perfectly seasoned and bursting with authentic Greek flavor.The Black Angus souvlaki was the star of the meal. It was incredibly tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection. Every bite reminded me why I love Greek food. To top it all off, we had the house specialty Greek yogurt gelato, and it was the perfect ending—light, creamy, refreshing, and absolutely unforgettable.The quality of the food, the authentic flavors, and the attention to detail made this one of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time. If you're looking for outstanding Greek cuisine in the Chicago area, Kouklas is a must-visit. I can't wait to come back and try more of the menu. Five stars all the way!
